COMPLETE PDF AVAILABLE AT: www.lawschooldems.org/images/2009chapterguide.pdf The National Democratic Law Students Council appreciates your continued dedication and interest in Democratic politics. Your commitment to building a successful Law School Democrats chapter at your school is important to building our national organization. With your help, we hope to create opportunities for law students to engage in democratic activism and voting rights initiatives every election cycle. Since our founding in 2006, our internal focus has been on setting the groundwork for a successful national organization and finding ways to help students maintain strong chapters at their schools without direct financial or logistical support. While the former is ongoing, we believe the key to the latter is providing sound advice. Different schools face different struggles. We know this. Nevertheless, this guide will provide some basic assistance with growing and sustaining your chapter. We have asked different chapters what works, what doesn't, and ways to encourage more participation. That information is compiled into this document so that everyone can use it when they run out of ideas, face challenges, or simply want to build a new group from the ground up. This guide includes information on everything from starting a new chapter to creating events and getting involved in election protection efforts around the country. We hope it helps. If you need help with anything at anytime, we are only an email or a phone call away. We are here to help, and glad to do it.
