Election Protection in Wisconsin
On August 9th and August 16th, special recall Elections will be held in the State of Wisconsin that will determine control of the Wisconsin State Senate. If Democratic challengers are successful in these Elections, it will put an end to the implementation of Governor Walker’s ultra conservative agenda. It will also send a clear message nationwide that a far-right agenda that harms working class Americans for the benefit of big business will NOT be tolerated.
Mentoring Program
The first networking event for our mentoring program will be at the famous Friar's Club on August 17th. The event is entirely free, courtesy of the generous contributions of the Obama Lawyers Committee members. Students who participated in the Committee's law firm outreach efforts will receive the invitation with the specific event details.

The Law School Democrats of America met with the principals of the Obama Lawyers Committee, Steven Newmark (Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP) and Douglas W. Dunham (Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP), to discuss how law students can help the re-election campaign.
Generation 44 All-Star Fundraising Events
Gen44 is a concept founded from Generation Obama (GO) and the DNC TrailBlazers, and is co-founded by the founder of the Law School Democrats of America, David Burd. Building on this strong record of achievement, the DNC merged these critical programs to establish Gen44. Since 2008, Gen44 has worked to harness the energy and excitement of the Presidential election by cultivating the next generation of fundraisers. Gen 44 works to maintain the passion of those young Americans who worked so diligently to elect President Obama and help them to engage their networks and colleagues in support of the President and the Democratic Party.
President Obama’s 50th Birthday is on August 4, 2011. There will be Obama Victory Fund 2012 events all across the country on Wednesday, August 3rd so that all supporters will have an opportunity to celebrate with him. The President only turns 50 once, so it will be a night to remember! Gen44 young professionals, including many attorneys, will be playing a large part in making all of these events successful. We want you to get involved!
